Six Reasons to Apply Early

For high school students interested in attending Baylor in the fall, Baylor offers two application deadlines: Nov. 1 (Early Decision 1 and Early Action) and Feb. 1 (Early Decision 2 and Regular Admission).

Applying by Nov. 1 as an Early Decision 1 or Early Action applicant allows students to receive an admission decision earlier than those who apply Early Decision 2 or Regular Admission. Early Decision 1 applicants will receive an admission decision by Dec. 15, and Early Action applicants receive a decision by Jan. 15. Conversely, Early Decision 2 applicants receive a decision by Mar. 1 and Regular Admission applicants receive a decision by Apr. 10.

In addition to receiving an admissions decision early, there are other benefits of applying early:

• Applying early shows your interest level! If Baylor is your top college choice, submitting an early application will demonstrate your commitment, which could make you a stronger candidate.
• Your senior year goes by fast, and there are all kinds of special celebrations and activities that come along with it. Enjoy your senior year by crossing your college application off your to-do list early in the fall semester.
• If Baylor is your first choice, apply Early Decision 1 (binding contract) and save the time and expense of submitting applications to multiple colleges. If you're accepted to Baylor, there's no need to apply anywhere else!
• Our freshman class fills up quickly! Historically, the majority of our freshman class is made up of the Early Decision 1 and Early Action applicants who apply by Nov. 1.
• Every applicant is automatically considered for merit-based scholarships when they apply. When you apply early, you'll potentially get your scholarship information earlier.
• Because you'll receive your admission decision earlier, you'll have more time to make your college decision, pay your enrollment deposit and complete crucial next steps to get you enrolled.
