Giving Back: This is Our Baylor

A love for the University and a passionate belief in the Institution’s mission define Baylor faculty and staff. For the fifth consecutive year, The Chronicle of Higher Education has awarded Baylor University with Honor Roll status as one of the country’s “Great Colleges to Work For.” This is Our Baylor, and faculty and staff are proud to give generously of their time, talent and treasure to support the programs that stir the University community’s passion.

The Our Baylor Faculty, Staff and Retirees Campaign is an annual appeal for Baylor employees and retirees to financially support the areas of Baylor that hold special significance to them. Any gift to any area counts toward the University’s overall participation rate and makes a bold statement that the faculty and staff of this University support Our Baylor. This year’s campaign runs from June 1, 2015, through May 31, 2016.

Sixteen women and men have volunteered to help lead the charge in 2016, encouraging their peers and colleagues to show their support for Our Baylor. Dr. Andrea Dixon, associate professor and executive director of the Keller Center and the Center for Professional Selling, is serving again as the chair of this year’s campaign.

“The future of this country lies in the quality of the next generation of leaders,” Dr. Dixon said. “The Lord is clearly using Baylor to shape the hearts and minds of students who will impact the world for Jesus Christ. By giving to Baylor, I feel that I can play some small part in His work and the future of this country. I’ve been blessed to be a part of the Lord’s work here since 2009. I’m excited to see the big things that the Lord will do through Baylor in my lifetime.”

In 2015, Baylor faculty and staff achieved the highest participation rate to date at 46%. Nearly every area on campus has been affected by the generosity of the Our Baylor campaign, including the funding of scholarships, program support, facility renovations and community outreach.
