Celebrating Give Light

Three years ago this week, Baylor University launched the public phase of the Give Light campaign, a comprehensive philanthropic campaign that supports the priorities of Illuminate. Built on a foundation of gifts from faithful donors who caught the vision for the future of the University, the campaign has raised more than $1.07 billion towards our $1.1 billion goal.

The remarkable campaign progress includes 623 newly endowed scholarships and 31 endowed faculty positions and reflects gifts from more than 78,000 donors. It also includes major gift support for capital projects such as the renovated Tidwell Bible Building and Mark and Paula Hurd Welcome Center currently under construction at the corner of University Parks Drive and I-35.

It takes gifts large and small, one-time gifts and consistent, annual support to help the University continue our progress. Alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff and friends can all participate in the campaign at whatever level is right for them.

Christmas is the perfect time to give a gift that gives back to Baylor through such programs as the Traditions Christmas Ornaments and Bricks for Baylor.

Traditions Christmas Ornaments
These one-of-a-kind ornaments offered for a limited time each year celebrate a different Baylor tradition. This year, while supplies last, donors can add the new Traditions collectible ornament that showcases everyone's favorite spirit yell, the Sic 'em, and add a limited-edition NCAA Men's National Championship ornament to their collection. Whether buying for yourself or your favorite Bears, these ornaments add the Baylor spirit to Christmas. Proceeds from the Traditions Ornament program will be designated by the President to support initiatives that directly impact students.

Bricks for Baylor
For those who want to physically leave their mark at Baylor, they can give back with an inscribed brick on campus – near a renovated Collins Hall, the new Baylor Basketball Pavilion or the new front door to the University, the Mark and Paula Hurd Welcome Center. Bricks are a lasting way to acknowledge a significant moment in your own Baylor journey or celebrate the life or impact of someone important to you. Proceeds from gifts to the Bricks for Baylor program will be used to advance capital projects on campus.

"Thank you" to the Baylor Family for generously supporting the campaign. Let's continue the momentum.
