Healthcare for Students 24/7
Baylor University is now offering expanded and enhanced virtual healthcare options for all students available through Baylor Telehealth by AcademicLiveCare. No matter what their physical or mental health need or where in the country Baylor students are, they can visit the Baylor Telehealth by AcademicLiveCare Care Hub to:
- Access on-demand virtual urgent care for some physical health concerns
- Receive immediate mental health support
- Schedule an appointment for ongoing counseling services
- Request prescription refills
- Visit with a registered dietician or a board-certified psychiatrist
"We know that mental and physical wellbeing are key to overall student success, which is why we're excited to introduce this new telehealth program that adds to existing on-campus resources and further helps meet the needs of all Baylor students," Jim Marsh, Ph.D., Dean for Student Health and Wellness and Executive Director for Counseling Services said. "Our goal is to remove as many barriers to care as possible so that students feel supported and cared for at all times and have options to be seen by providers outside of traditional campus business hours or when they are away from Baylor's campus," Marsh said.
With board-certified doctors and mental health providers, Baylor Telehealth is a valuable resource for students. All services are available to students across the country at no charge and offer unlimited visits.
"Extending our services to students through virtual appointments not only increases appointment availability but also expands accessibility in ways that strictly in-person appointments cannot. We look forward to serving students in person as well as using this new tool to provide on-demand care," Dr. Sharon Stern, medical director of Baylor Health Services said.
To access the new counseling, urgent medical care, nutrition and psychiatric services, students should visit baylor.academiclivecare.com. Registration will require a Baylor email and a coupon code to access the free services. Patients of the counseling services will receive their coupon code via their Baylor email after registration, patients seeking medical care should use coupon code ALCBAYLU during registration.
