At Baylor, research isn’t major-specific. These University-wide experiences include laboratory or field-based projects in engineering and the sciences, data analysis in business and creative projects in the fine arts and humanities. There are many ways to get involved in undergraduate research: through your courses, summer internships, faculty-led projects or even study abroad programs.
Later this semester, we’ll unite diverse disciplines, academic levels and scholarly communities at the Baylor Engagement and Research (BEAR) Symposium. This interdisciplinary research symposium brings together undergraduate researchers, faculty mentors, departments and research organizations from across the University. We’re excited to host this campus‑wide celebration of undergraduate research across all disciplines!
When you’re ready to jump into a research project at Baylor, it’s easy to get started. You’ll utilize ForagerOne, a first-of-its-kind research matching software platform, to facilitate a connection between yourself and research faculty.
At Baylor, we don’t expect you to make these discoveries alone. Undergraduate research holds life-changing importance, so we’ve created URSA Grants to help you fund your research journey. URSA Grants offer two types of funding to support undergraduate research: Project Grants and Travel and Impact Grants. Project Grants help to cover the costs of supplies and materials and training that enhances the research project’s objectives, while Travel and Impact Grants offset costs for conference presentation and research project implementation.
