Dr. Lori Ann Spies, assistant professor, presented "Nurse Practitioners on a Mission: Making a difference globally" at the 27th annual Texas Nurse Practitioner Conference, held Sept. 25, in Dallas.

Dr. David Uber, professor of French, presented "We'll always have... Modiano's Paris as seen in Quartier Perdu" at European Studies Conference, held Oct. 8-10, in Omaha.

Dr. Andrew Wisely, associate professor of German, presented "'I didn't come here to lie': Abraham de la Penha's testimony on March 26, 1965 in the Frankfurt Auschwitz Trial" at The Future of Holocaust Testimonies IV, held March 9, in Akko, Israel.

Dr. Jay Yoo, assistant professor, presented "When body-tanning becomes dress: Social norms, beliefs, and stigmatization of body modification" at Popular Culture Association-American Culture Association, held March 25, in Seattle; "The Influence of Sociocultural Attitudes Towards Appearance (SATA), Gender, and Body Mass Index (BMI) on Adolescents' Appearance-related Consumption" with Dr. Jennifer Yurchisin, University of Minnesota, at Fashion and the Body, held April 29-30 in St. Paul, Minnesota.

 


 

 

 

HONORS

Dr. Roger E. Kirk, distinguished professor of psychology and neuroscience and master teacher, was named a Fellow from Southwestern Psychological Association at its annual meeting in Dallas, on April 9, 2016. Fellow status was conferred for outstanding contributions to psychology and statistics.

Deborah Manzanares, senior lecturer of Spanish, received Faculty Advisor of the Year 2014- 15 from The National Executive Council of Alpha Lambda Delta, May 2016.

Carolyn Muska, director of professional development in the office of career and professional development, received the 2015 Marshall Award from the American Association for Employment in Education, April 2016.
