Celebrate the Season at Christmas on 5th Street

As a Christian university, Baylor boldly celebrates the birth of Christ through campus traditions. One of Baylor's most beloved traditions, Christmas on 5th Street, returns as an in-person event in the heart of campus Thursday, December 2, from 5-10 p.m., featuring live performances, holiday-themed activities, local vendors, food trucks and more.

From the trail of lights beginning on 5th Street to horse-drawn carriages trotting past activities like the live nativity scene in front of the Bill Daniel Student Center, Christmas on 5th Street creates an opportunity for the Baylor community to experience the joy of the season. This year's festivities also include ice skating, photo opportunities with Mr. and Mrs. Claus, a petting zoo, make-and-take activities for kids and a Christmas on 5th Marketplace with arts, crafts and gifts that are perfect for the people on your list. The evening will culminate with the reading of the Christmas story and annual Christmas Tree Lighting, light, snow and fireworks show, followed by a live concert, all on the Quad.

"Baylor is a very special place, and this community-wide celebration of Christmas is the perfect example of what connects students, faculty, staff and families across the ages. Even among all the fun activities, and there are so many, we pause and remember that Christmas is a celebration of the birth of our Savior," said Jordy Dickey, associate director of student union and staff coordinator of the event.
