Know Your Neighbor Week

One of the things we appreciate about Baylor is the diversity of backgrounds, ethnicities, and experiences of our students, faculty and staff that make up our community. This week, Baylor is celebrating some of the programs that shine a light on the many distinct populations through Know Your Neighbor Week. Students, faculty and staff are invited to learn more about the experiences of our neighbors through a variety of events. Two events, in particular, will help each of us learn more about one another and how we can be better friends, colleagues and neighbors:

Learn from nationally acclaimed speaker, author, TV personality and first-generation college graduate Dr. Joshua Fredenburg about the ways to best support first-generation college students.

Senior Director of Student Success Initiatives Whitney Jones says Know Your Neighbor Week is not just about learning, but is also about taking action. “It’s about stepping up to make a difference when called to do so. When we shine a light on the experiences of the many distinct populations across campus and learn more about who our neighbor is, we also bring to light the particular challenges they may face. The most frequent response we hear is, ‘How can I help?’,” Jones said.
