Faculty/Staff basketball tickets

December 14, 2022

Baylor Faculty and Staff,

First and foremost, we want to thank you for the important work you do as a part of this special community. Whether you work directly with student-athletes in the classroom or support them in other ways, your contributions to Baylor aid in the success of our 500-plus student-athletes while they are on campus and in their lives beyond Baylor.

As you may have seen, the Paul & Alejandra Foster Pavilion is quickly taking shape on the site along the Brazos River adjacent to Robinson Tower. The Foster Pavilion will have many features which support the hard work of our student-athletes and create an unmistakable fan experience. At a capacity of 7,500-plus, the Pavilion will bring fans closer to the action with improved site lines, creating a true home court advantage.

Some have asked why plans call for a reduced capacity in the Pavilion. There are several industry measures of home-court advantage, and currently, Baylor ranks below the top 100 Division 1 universities and is near the bottom of the Big 12. For two of the most consistently successful basketball programs in the country, we must do better. The Foster Pavilion will undoubtedly deliver an elevated experience to our student-athletes, coaches, students and fans.

There is great excitement for our teams and this new, modern facility. As such, we have a multi-phase process for selecting seats, allowing current season ticket holders in these phases to purchase tickets first. Strong initial interest indicates the number of complimentary faculty and staff walk-up tickets available for men’s games in the Foster Pavilion will be limited – and potentially unavailable for marquee games.

If you are a faculty or staff member who attends multiple men’s basketball games, I strongly encourage you to consider purchasing season tickets for the current season. Season tickets will be available to purchase until December 31, 2022. Baylor Faculty and Staff receive a discount of 20 percent on two season tickets. To learn more about the multi-phase selection process, please visit the Foster Pavilion website, or reach out to the Baylor Bear Foundation at (254) 710-2582 or at Bear_Foundation@baylor.edu.

We understand not all are in a position to make a financial commitment for season tickets. For women’s basketball, Baylor Faculty and Staff will be able to claim complimentary tickets similar to the current policy at the Ferrell Center. Additionally, Faculty and Staff may continue to claim complimentary tickets to many of our other exciting and family-friendly Baylor sporting events including Baseball, Softball, Volleyball, Track & Field, Soccer, and Acrobatics & Tumbling, along with non-ticketed events for Men’s & Women’s Tennis and Equestrian.

Thank you again for your strong support of our University and student-athletes across all of our sport programs. Our teams are performing at high levels in the classroom and in competition while representing Baylor with honor and distinction. As we continue to pursue our vision of Preparing Champions for Life, we are grateful for your dedication to this institution and the overall Baylor community.

Sic ’em Bears,

Mack B. Rhoades, IV
Vice President, Director for Intercollegiate Athletics
