Move2BU: Join the Tradition Aug. 21-22

July 16, 2024

Though one of the newer campus traditions, Move2BU has been a hallmark of the Baylor experience for decades, demonstrating the hospitality, kindness and service our community values. Each fall, the University sets aside two days during the week before classes start during student move-in when faculty, staff and current students rally together to welcome new students and families by helping them move their belongings into their residence halls.

“The transition to college can sometimes be overwhelming for new students and their families,” Ian Philbrick, associate director for Campus Living and Learning, says. “Move2BU is an important community-wide effort to help ease that transition and set a great tone for the start of the school year.”

This year, Move2BU will take place Wednesday, Aug. 21, and Thursday, Aug. 22, where more than 2,500 students will make their new home in one of 15 residence halls.

“We couldn’t pull off this important tradition without the help of everyone in our campus community. From faculty and staff, to current students, facilities and catering service providers, and even our President and First Gent, it truly is a herculean effort full of Baylor spirit and fun,” Philbrick says.
