When Baylor announced a new campus dining contract with Chartwells Higher Education last fall, the nationally known university food service provider made a commitment to delivering innovation and best-in-class service to the campus community. Nine months of partnership and planning have led to a revamped dining experience –  Baylor Eats, which is powered by Chartwells. This new partnership combines Baylor’s dedication to providing a top-tier campus experience that supports the well-being and satisfaction of the entire University community with Chartwells’s dining and catering expertise.

Bringing a fresh approach to dining, Baylor Eats offers students, faculty and staff a blend of creativity, sustainability and culinary excellence that is as diverse as the Baylor Family itself – redefining what it means to dine on campus. Along with the exciting new options, Baylor Eats elevates time-honored Baylor traditions such as All University Thanksgiving and Dr Pepper Hour, plus campus favorites like Chick-fil-A and Common Grounds in the SUB are carefully preserved. Meanwhile, menu items like the Flying Saucer burrito are still served by familiar faces in familiar spaces.

All discounted campus dining options for faculty, staff and graduate students remain available, and the McMullen-Connally Faculty Center reopens on the first day of class for full-time faculty and executive staff from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday, where a refreshed menu will welcome diners.

Something for Every Palate

From classic comfort food to adventurous international cuisine, Baylor Eats has something for everyone. Each dining hall menu has been thoughtfully curated by accomplished chefs with a unique culinary approach. Menus feature a range of flavors, and there are countless options for vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free diets and those with food allergies. In fact, all dining halls feature Delicious Without food stations, which offer craveable, nutritious meals that are always safe to eat for those with allergies.

  • Penland Crossroads features over 14 stations catering to diverse tastes, complemented by a market next door for convenient meals, snacks and essentials.
  • East Village offers a culinary passport to the world with an array of global cuisines.
  • 1845 at Memorial — affectionately known as “Memo”— celebrates tradition with more fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
  • Brooks Great Hall delivers the bold and comforting flavors of Texas, with a spotlight on Tex-Mex favorites.

The most up-to-date dining hall hours are available on the Baylor Eats website.

In addition to dining halls, students, faculty and staff can also eat at several familiar and a few new outlets. Copperhead Jack’s, a Southwestern kitchen, and a second location of Rising Roll are open in the Baylor Sciences Building. There is now a self-scan option at Sic ‘Em Snacks Market in the SUB and customers can use mobile order in the Starbucks app at both campus locations.

Beyond the Food

But Baylor Eats is not just about the food; it’s also about a strong commitment to wellness, diners with unique needs, sustainability and convenience. Thanks to this new partnership, Baylor has access to a full-time, registered dietitian and an ingredient expert who are both available to answer any questions guests may have. Baylor also now has a full-time food insecurity programs coordinator who serves as a vital liaison between Baylor Eats and the Baylor community in combatting food insecurity on campus. Baylor and Chartwells are also identifying new ways to bring more sustainability to campus dining, starting with an expanded composting initiative. Finally, recognizing the importance of convenience, Baylor Eats has integrated technology into many ordering and checkout processes.

As another academic year gets underway, now is a great time to get out and discover the many exciting changes and delicious options now available across the 21 dining locations on campus. From nutritious meals to tech-enhanced convenience, Baylor Eats is here to serve — and delight — every member of the Baylor community. Bon Appétit!
